Villa des Camélias

The print shows Villa des Camélias - 1932, where thin painted lines cross over one another on a soft ground. Grey and ochre passes build a quiet interior picture.

Maria Helena Vieira da Silva used this way of working in her practice. You handle the sheet, fit the metal hanger to a nail, and it goes straight on the wall.

No separate frame is needed for this fine art piece. Hang it on the kitchen wall above the counter, where the morning light finds the crossing lines first.
