About this work
Vonal Stri - 1975 shows a grid of black lines running in two directions across a plain ground. The squares break into smaller shapes as the lines cross. Victor Vasarely built this kind of optical work from regular geometry. From the doorway the grid reads as one flat pattern.
A metal hanger is fitted to the back so the fine art sheet goes straight onto a nail. You do not need a frame. The matte paper holds the black lines without shine, so the grid stays even under indoor light.
Above a desk the bars meet your eye at a steady distance. The crossing lines give a quiet rhythm while you work, and the plain ground keeps the desk clear.
