Vorcex IV — Fine Art

Vorcex IV uses flat colour blocks against a lighter field. The shapes sit in clear layers with hard edges. You see the steady paint where one colour meets the next. Al Held often worked in this hard edge way, laying down broad colour areas in a controlled layout.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The light frame sits on a dark wall, so the colour blocks stand out without glare. The paper does not shine under a lamp, which keeps the flat colour quiet and even.

It hangs above a plain office desk, viewed from a stool a few steps away. From that distance the large shapes read first, and the sharp edges stay clean. The upper wall stays dark behind the frame, so the colour blocks do not fade into the background.
