Wall Hanging 1925 1

Wall Hanging 1925 1 by Anni Albers shows straight lines crossing a plain ground. The marks sit in bands that run from one edge to the other.

thick lines and thin lines alternate across the sheet. fine art paper keeps the grey tones steady under a lamp. The matte surface leaves no shine on the image.

A dark frame on a pale wall makes the lines stand out. It fits a kitchen wall near the table. From the doorway you notice the repeat of the bands first, then the quiet grey ground.
