White Sun-Box — Fine Art

White Sun-Box - 1966 opens on a bright sun shape sitting inside a dark box form. The artist lays down broad flat colour and a hard edge where the two shapes meet. The mark feels simple and held in place.

This fine art print sits inside a white frame that gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. The white wood sits away from the light shapes in the image and keeps the drawing of the box legible.

In a kitchen with a window on the east side, the sun shape reads as a flat shape rather than a light source. From the table you see the dark box step back from the outer frame.
