Wide

Wide opens with a long band of colour that runs from one side to the other. The tone shifts across that line, and a good deal of the sheet stays open.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. Sam Gilliam builds colour field paintings by laying paint in broad moves and letting some ground show. The paper is matte, so the colour stays flat and the open parts do not shine under a lamp. It arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw.

No separate frame to buy. You can put it in a dining room on a wall above the sideboard. From the table you see the long band first, and the open ground keeps the wall from feeling crowded.
