Windows no. 2

Windows no. 2 by Alice Neel shows a person set behind a window frame, drawn with careful looking and plain colours. The picture holds a calm mood through its steady inner lines and quiet skin tones. You see the same watchful eye that runs through her portraits and figure studies.

The white frame puts a clean border around the image, so the painted shapes sit with a firm edge on the wall. The fine art print keeps the painted surface flat and the pencil lines visible.

It fits well above a desk in a study, where you notice the face first and then the thin window cross at a closer look.

As a guide: 40×50 cm suits a desk or small wall, 50×70 cm sits well above a sofa or bed, and 70×100 cm anchors a room as a focal piece. If you'd like advice for your space, send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a size.

For your country, this piece is estimated at 5 to 8 business days from the moment you order, including production, with free tracked delivery. Every piece is made to order by the print partner closest to you; framed pieces take a little longer because each one is framed and checked before dispatch. These are estimates, and there is no express option. Full country-by-country ranges are on our estimated delivery times page, and you can see exactly how your piece is packed.

If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order number, and keep all packaging. We will send a free replacement at no cost to you. See our refund policy for the full process.
