About this work

Winter Farm Scene

The Winter Farm Scene sets a cold season on a working farm. Andrew Wyeth drew the scene in his dry realist way. Snow covers the ground and the buildings look still. Trees stand bare against the sky. The view stays calm and quiet.

A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel shows these tones without the shine of glossy paper. The matte surface lets the bare branches and grey sky read as they are.

On a study wall near a desk lamp you notice the thin branches first, then the house shape further in.
