Xilografia

The title Xilografia - 1919 points to a print made with carved lines. Julius Evola worked in the early part of his career, when the graphic method meant cutting into a plate and pulling ink across the surface. The marks here carry that pressure and those lines.

The picture is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The framed print hangs ready when the ready to hang option is used. The frame holds the sheet flat, and the back panel keeps the print aligned on the wall.

It fits a narrow hallway with a pale wall and one bulb near the floor. From there the carved lines read as a set of dark runs. You notice the pressure of each cut before you see the whole sheet.
