Lee Bontecou
Lee Bontecou was an American sculptor and draughtswoman celebrated for her menacing, industrial relief sculptures of welded steel and canvas that evoke jet engines, maws, and black holes, as well as her delicate, otherworldly vacuum-formed plastic works. Her powerful, original practice defies easy categorisation.
