Abstract Composition — Fine Art

Abstract Composition uses a narrow range of tones set against a pale ground. The marks run in one direction and the darker tone holds the lighter ones in place. Konrad Zuse built the picture from repeated strokes rather than a single flat field.

The fine art print lays these tones on a matte sheet so the pale areas stay soft under indoor light. A light frame on a dark wall lets the dark tone read clearly, and a dark frame on a pale wall keeps the lighter marks from fading into the background.

It hangs on the stairwell wall beside the newel post, where the daily pass slows your eye. From the bottom step you see the running direction of the strokes, and from the landing you notice the small gaps between one stroke and the next.
