Abstract Euphony — Fine Art

Abstract Euphony by Hans Hofmann sets bold blocks of colour against a divided surface. The forms push forward and recede across the picture. Hans Hofmann built this kind of picture from strong colour and clear shape. You see the arrangement from the doorway, then notice the edges when you stand near the wall.

This fine art print uses a matte paper that keeps the colours steady under indoor light. The frame finish can follow the room, a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. The surface does not shine, so the tones stay flat and readable.

It works well on the wall above a kitchen table. From the chair you see the big colour blocks first. When you pass by you catch the small shifts between the forms.
