Abstraction

The title Abstraction names a work by Sam Gilliam that sets a broad wash of colour across the sheet. The eye lands on a soft band near the middle, and the rest of the ground stays open and quiet.

This fine art print sits on a matte sheet, which keeps the washed colour flat and stops glare under a ceiling light. You can hang the piece at a height where the top band meets your line of sight, and the open ground below gives the eye room to rest.

It fits a bedroom wall over a dresser, where morning light comes in from the side. From the foot of the bed you see the broad colour first, and the lighter edges near the frame stay calm.
