Alchemy 1947

Alchemy 1947 opens with dark enamel runs crossing a light ground. The marks gather in clusters then thin out near the edges.

Jackson Pollock laid the paint down with a fast hand. From the side of a dining room, the broad dark runs settle above a sideboard while the thin runs stay quiet near the top.

A dark frame on a pale wall keeps the enamel runs clear under a ceiling light. The print is a fine art piece made for a wall. You can see the smaller spots best from the doorway.
