Back Off — Fine Art

The title Back Off sits on the page with a direct feel. Sam Francis often used soft washes and open space in his paintings. The image leans into that way of working, with colour that spreads and fades rather than sitting in hard blocks.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The print keeps the soft edges and light shifts of the original approach. The matte surface holds those changes without a shine, so the colour stays quiet under a lamp.

Hang it on a wall where you pass by at eye level, like a hallway near the kitchen. From a few steps back the broad shapes read first. Up close you notice the small shifts in tone where one wash meets another.
