Bed — Fine Art

A pillow and a sheet lie on what looks like a real bed, pressed into the surface with something like a footprint. The picture pulls from a sleeping place and turns it into an object on paper. It belongs to the ready made practice Robert Rauschenberg used in the nineteen fifties.

The fine art print keeps the soft fabric tones and the dark impression from the original bed sheet. A matte surface lets the greys and blues stay flat instead of shining back at you under a lamp.

It fits a narrow hallway wall beside a coat hook. You notice the dark shape first, then the pale sheet colour as you pass by on your way upstairs.
