Desert 1975

Desert 1975 by Vija Celmins takes a stretch of sand and turns it into a study of surface. The image reads as a wide field of pale tones with scattered specks and thin tracks running through the ground.

The work comes from a practice built on careful observation of natural forms. The fine art print uses a matte sheet so the dusty tones stay soft and the small marks hold their own space under room light.

The frame finish can follow the room, with a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. It works well in a hallway against a pale wall, where the wide ground stays calm and the tiny details show up when you pass by.

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
