Distant Meadow — Fine Art

Distant Meadow shows a wide field drawn in flat colour shapes and clean outlines. Eyvind Earle often built landscapes this way. The grass and sky sit side by side as simple bands of tone. A few tree shapes rest near the bottom of the picture.

The finish here is a fine art print set in a white frame. The white edge gives the image a clear line on the wall. It keeps the pale tones from spreading into the surrounding space.

This works above a low bookshelf near a window. You see the broad colour bands from across the room. Close up the clean outlines show the drawing of the trees.
