Flags Ulae 42

Flags Ulae 42 keeps the flag image that Jasper Johns made his own. The artist used painted panels to build the stripes and the star field. The work stays with that same method of layering thin paint over a flat ground and repeating the same shapes across the page.

This fine art print uses a matte paper so the painted layers read without a shine. On a wall with one steady lamp the painted panels keep their separate tones and the darker blue in the star field stays soft. The frame finish can follow the room.

It fits on the side wall of a narrow study, set above the desk. You notice the repeated flag shapes from the door and the small changes between the panels when you stand by the bookshelf.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
