Flowers 2

Flowers 2 by Odilon Redon shows a gathered cluster of blooms drawn with soft pastel and charcoal practice. The petals sit as open patches on a pale ground.

Stems bend in loose curves. The marks read as colour laid over a darker base. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds this image.

The paper stays matte so the pale tones do not shine under a lamp. You see the drawing in a bedroom on a pale wall near the bed. The blooms read as soft patches from a few steps away.
