Red Span - 1964 shows broad bands of red set against a lighter field. The red stretches across the sheet in a single measured direction. Thomas Downing painted in this style, building colour in flat layers.

The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The flat red fields stay even on the fine art surface, without a shine under a lamp.
