Road at Cagnes — Fine Art

Road at Cagnes shows a dirt path cutting through a rolling landscape under a pale sky. The ground rises in thick swaths of brown and green, and the marks run in many directions.

Chaim Soutine worked these layers wet on wet, leaving the paint heavy and uneven. You get the fine art print on matte paper, so the darker patches stay soft and the light parts do not shine under a lamp.

The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. It fits on a narrow kitchen wall near a stove. From the pass you notice the rough paint strokes, and from the table you notice the thin path line.
