Stand — Fine Art

Stand shows a flat field of colour with broad washes laid over the sheet. The paint sits in soft layers, and the edges stay open rather than hard. Sam Gilliam builds this kind of image with acrylic on canvas, letting the stain marks spread across the open ground.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame.

On a bedroom wall near the foot of the bed, the broad colour field reads as a steady band across the plaster. From the doorway you notice the open ground first, then the soft edges as you step closer. The metal hanger keeps the sheet level above the bedside table.
