Thaw — Fine Art

Thaw by Lee Krasner shows broad paint strokes spread across a pale ground. The strokes stay in separate bands, with white and grey tones shifting across the sheet. The title suggests ice breaking open, and the broad sweeps feel like movement across a frozen field.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the white and grey tones from shining under a lamp, so the separate strokes stay readable from the doorway.

In the kitchen, the pale ground looks calm against the cabinetry, and the broad paint strokes catch the morning light on the upper wall.
