The shapes stay close and crowded, and the surface carries the feel of repeated drawing and painting. Frank Auerbach worked by painting over and taking away marks in the same place, a method tied to British painting, and this fine art print keeps those built up marks and scraped areas in view.

The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw, so it goes up on the wall without a separate frame.
