Landscape by Chaim Soutine — Fine Art

Landscape shows a rough painted ground with uneven patches of tone and a few dark lines that carry the eye across the surface.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The work belongs to the expressionist painting period, where paint is pushed around by hand rather than smoothed flat.

The white frame gives this picture a clean edge, so the uneven paint sits inside a steady border and the eye stays on the marks. Place it on a hallway wall near the front door, where the first light of the day lands on the surface and the dark lines read clearly from that distance.
