Comet I — Fine Art

Comet I runs a bright band of paint across a soft field. The mark sits loose and open, with the colour fading toward one side. Sam Gilliam often lays paint in wide sweeps, and this fine art work follows that way of working.

This is a fine art print set in a frame, with a back panel. The surface stays matte, so the soft tones stay even and the bright band does not catch a glare. When the ready to hang option is used, it arrives assembled and faces out straight.

On a short bedroom wall above a reading chair, the bright band pulls the eye first. From the chair you see the open sweep, and from the foot of the bed you notice the fade toward one side.
