Device — Fine Art

Device shows a closed green box with a hinged flap set against a flat ground. The paint sits in broad even layers across the surface. Jasper Johns keeps the edges sharp and the colours steady. You can see the hinge line and the seam around the lid. The object sits quiet on the plane.

The fine art frame follows the room you choose. A light frame on a dark wall lets the green box stand apart. A dark frame on a pale wall pushes the box back. A wood frame beside wooden furniture ties the object to the wood grain.

It reads well on the landing wall near the bottom step. From the stair you catch the green lid first. Closer to the wall you notice the painted seam and the flat tone behind it.
