About this work
From Seeing Cape Split - 1935 shows a coastal scene built from quick pencil and watercolour marks. The artist works with loose strokes and washed colour to record the edge of the land. Water and rock meet in a few dark shapes against a pale field.
The picture is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The paper is matte, so the light greys stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp. It arrives assembled when the ready to hang option is used.
Hang it on a bedroom wall near the bed. From the pillow you see the broad open water, and the small pencil lines stay clear when you sit up.
