La Notte — Fine Art

La Notte by Sam Francis spreads open colour across a white field. The title points to night, yet the work holds light and space more than strict darkness. Thin washes sit apart, with room between the painted areas. From far away the colour reads as broad shapes.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. On this image the matte surface keeps the lighter washes from shining under a lamp.

In a bedroom the pale ground stays calm against a painted wall. The colour bands hold their shape from the side of the bed. On a desk near a window the thin paint lets the room light through without glare.
