Landscape at Cagnes by Chaim Soutine — Fine Art

Landscape at Cagnes shows a patch of ground and a stretch of sky worked in thick paint. Chaim Soutine lays down colour in heavy layers with visible brushwork.

The shapes stay loose and the tones shift across the picture. A fine art print uses a matte paper that holds the paint marks without shine.

The frame finish can follow the room, so a light frame sits on a dark wall or a wood frame goes beside wooden furniture. It hangs on a stairwell wall where the light from the landing catches the uneven paint layers.
