Linear Composition — Fine Art

Linear Composition by Sol LeWitt shows straight lines laid out in a careful order. The drawing uses black pencil marks on a white ground. Lines sit side by side and do not touch each other. The spacing gives the sheet a quiet rhythm. The print keeps that open look.

The fine art print sits on a wall where the room has soft light. A light frame on a dark wall makes the black lines read clearly. A dark frame on a pale wall keeps the drawing from sinking in.

It works on the wall above a study desk. From the chair you see the parallel lines and the white gap between them. The room stays calm and the drawing holds its own space. The lines point across the page and the eye moves along them.
