About this work
Magical Space Forms - 1962 by Lorser Feitelson takes its name from space and form. The picture uses flat colour planes and sharp edges, a way of painting tied to post war American abstract art. Lorser Feitelson worked with clean blocks of tone laid side by side.
The picture is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper holds the flat colours without shine. The frame keeps the sheet flat and the back panel gives it a solid edge. You get a ready to hang piece when the assembled option is chosen.
It reads well on a bedroom wall where the overhead light stays soft. The flat planes keep their tone from the door, and the sharp line between two tones stays clear from the foot of the bed.
