A maze of interlocking planes floats in space. Pachinko, Al Held’s enigmatic composition, refuses a single reading.
Thin white lines carve black rectangles into jagged corridors. Some planes tilt forward, others recede, creating a shallow illusion of depth without vanishing points. The contrast is stark, the edges razor-sharp. No shading softens the geometry.
Hang it above a low credenza where the negative space can breathe, or let it anchor a gallery wall of smaller prints.
