About this work

Rocks

Rocks shows a stretch of stone seen from close up. The paint moves in thin layers across the surface.

Some areas stay rough while others smooth out under the brush. Edward Hopper built the scene from careful observation of the land. The fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel.

You can see the original paint handling through the clear surface. The framed print hangs on a bedroom wall near a low lamp. From the bed you notice the uneven rock shapes while the room stays dim.
