About this work
Six Open Forms - 1971 by William Scott shows six broad shapes set across a flat ground. The shapes lean and overlap. One shape carries a pale wash while the others stay darker. The space between them stays open. The eye moves from the left shape toward the gap on the right.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print sits on matte paper so the pale wash keeps its softness and the darker shapes stay flat without shine. A light frame on a dark wall lets the open shapes read clearly.
In a hallway with one lamp on the left, the shapes cast a quiet shadow. From the far end you see the open forms and the pale wash first. Closer you notice the loose lines and the gaps between the shapes.
