Timandra — Fine Art

Timandra - 2007 opens on a pale field where a few curved bands of paint run side by side. The eye enters at the left edge and drifts along the soft sweep of each band toward the right.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. Empty space sits between the curves and keeps the picture quiet. The work belongs to the hard edge painting practice that Ron Gorchov used across his career.

The paper is matte, so the colours stay without shine under a lamp. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the curves hold the eye. Hang it at shoulder height on a hallway wall, and from the stair landing the bands read as simple shapes against the plaster.
