Triptyque ocre-violet-rouge — Fine Art

Ochre, violet and red sit in separate bands across this triptych. The paint is laid in broad fields that meet at hard edges. Fernand Leduc worked with colour fields and simple divisions on the canvas. The brushwork stays loose where the tones shift from one band to the next.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. A light frame sits on a dark wall and the three colour blocks hold the space. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the ochre pull forward.

Hang it at eye level on a long wall beside a wooden table. From the doorway the bands read as one wide colour field. Step closer and the slight unevenness in the paint shows. The reds stay warm under normal room light.
