Manuel Rivera

Manuel Rivera was a Spanish abstract painter and founding member of the El Paso group, best known for his distinctive works incorporating wire mesh - mallas - which he layered and shaped to create shimmering, grid-like reliefs of extraordinary delicacy. His innovative use of industrial mesh gave his paintings an ethereal, luminous quality unique in post-war art.
