Hommage to by Sam Francis — Fine Art

Hommage to Alfred Jensen sits on a plain ground with a few grouped marks. Sam Francis painted open colour areas in the post war abstract painting years. The shapes read as a single field from a doorway, and the small shifts between them show when you stand near the wall.

The fine art paper holds a matte surface, so the colour areas stay even and do not shine under a lamp. A light frame sets the picture off on a darker wall, while a wood frame fits beside wooden furniture. The finish follows the room you choose.

On a hallway wall the grouped marks hold a steady shape from the stair landing. In a study the same field settles behind the desk and the small shifts between the painted areas catch the light.
