Wooded Landscape by Henri — Fine Art

Wooded Landscape by Henri-Edmond Cross builds a forest scene from small separate touches of paint. Leaves and trunks appear as clusters of green, yellow and blue. The picture stays open, with gaps of sky showing between the trees.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. The sheet is matte, so the separate colour strokes keep their soft edges under normal light. You see the paint handling without a shine on top.

In a reading corner above a desk, the green patches hold steady when you look up from a page. From the door the tree line reads as one broad band of mixed colour.
