Afterglow — Fine Art

Afterglow by Maxfield Parrish shows a warm sky fading into cooler tones near the ground. You can read the broad shapes from across the room, then notice the thin outline work when you stand closer. The picture stays calm in the evening light.

The fine art print uses matte paper so the bright sky tones do not glare back at you. A light frame sits well against a dark painted wall, or a wood frame sits beside wooden furniture in the same room.

It works above the bed in a bedroom with pale walls. From the doorway you take in the whole sky shape, while the narrow edge lines come into view when you pass by.
