Collioure 1905 — Fine Art

Collioure 1905 shows a seaside place with boats and a bright sky. The picture uses strong red, blue and green areas next to each other. Henri Matisse painted this during a period when he worked with bold colour spaces more than with careful detail.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The paper stays matte, so the red and blue areas keep their flat look and do not shine under a lamp.

Hang it above a low bench near a window that gives soft light. From across the room the big colour shapes are clear, and the painted edges stay simple.
