House by a Road — Fine Art

House by a Road by Edward Hopper puts a lone building beside a stretch of road. The painter is known for clear outlines and flat areas of colour. He works in oil on canvas, laying paint in thin layers. Light falls across the structure in a steady way.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The print sits on a flat sheet, so the lines and the flat colour areas stay sharp.

It works well on the wall in a bedroom, above the bed. From the doorway you notice the strong lines of the house and the road. Close to the bed you see the flat colour areas and the simple shapes. The room stays calm.
