Leaves I by Jean — Fine Art

Leaves I shows a cluster of rounded marks laid across the sheet. The marks press into the paper with short diagonal strokes. Jean-Paul Riopelle built this kind of image by layering paint in quick passes. The surface holds the uneven edges of each layer.
