Morning Mist

Morning Mist by Hans Hofmann opens on a soft field of grey and blue that fills the sheet. A few strokes of darker paint cross near the middle. The eye moves from the lighter area toward those marks. Empty space stays on both sides.

This fine art print uses matte paper with a frame that can follow the room. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the grey tones soft. A dark frame on a pale wall gives the blue marks more weight. The paper holds the colour without shine under a lamp.

It fits well on a bedroom wall beside a bed. From the doorway you notice the quiet grey field first, then the darker strokes closer up. The morning mood stays calm.
