Poppies — Fine Art

Poppies shows bright red flower heads spread over a dark ground with sharp outlines. The shapes repeat in rows, each one taller or shorter than the next. Eyvind Earle made the forms stand out against a plain background.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. You can see the crowded field when you step back. The white frame gives the image a clean border on the wall. The border keeps the red from running into the paint around it.

The edge stays thin and the picture keeps its own space. It fits above a long table where the red heads read from the door. You notice the rows first, then the small gaps between each flower.
