The Yellow Curtain — Fine Art

The Yellow Curtain shows a patterned cloth hanging across the picture. The fabric folds take up most of the space. Henri Matisse paints the cloth with broad strokes of yellow and a darker band near the bottom. The surface reads as a flat sheet of colour with little detail inside.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The frame finish sets the edge of the print. A white frame gives the cloth a clean border. A wood frame sits warmer against the yellow. A dark wood frame deepens the lower band.

This print works well above a desk where the light is steady. You stand a step back and the cloth fills the view. Close up you see the brush lines in the folds. The paper stays matte so the yellow does not shine under a lamp.
