Firenze — Fine Art

Firenze by Gerhard Richter shows a softened view of the city with blurred edges. The painting belongs to postwar German painting and its mark making feels like a photograph out of focus. Grey and warm tones mix across the surface without sharp outlines.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The frame finishes in white, wood, dark wood or black and gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white finish keeps the hazy tones calm. A dark wood finish adds weight near the lower edge.

It suits a hallway landing where the light is even and the view comes slowly. From the stair you notice the soft tones first and the clear frame edge last.
