About this work
Number 6 1949 by Jackson Pollock uses poured and dripped paint laid across the surface. The work belongs to the abstract expressionist movement of the mid twentieth century. Black enamel and other pigments run in webs and splatters, with thin lines crossing thicker runs. The marks look direct and unblended, as if made in one working session.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the black enamel runs soft and stops shine under a lamp.
It suits a bedroom wall near the headboard. From the bed you see the broad black runs and the thin crossing lines. The eye settles on the tangle of paint laid down in layers.
